This race was a lot of fun! I am a huge Chicago Bears fan, so I have always wanted to run this! This race starts outside Soldier field, and runs 5 miles south along Lake Michigan and Lake Shore Drive. It is a down and back race, so at mile 5 you turn around to come back.
(I was in corral 4)
The great thing about this route is I get to see the city from my favorite spot 🙂 I actually took my phone with me on this race because my running watch broke, and I needed to time myself.
The BEST part of this race was finishing on the 50-yard line of Soldier Field. I was just bummed that Matt Forte was not there! Haha. My husband and oldest brother were there though, so it was alright 🙂
This race was on a Saturday, which was great because we had the rest of the day, plus Sunday to just relax. My brother, Morgan (my husband) and I had an absolute blast hanging out and enjoying the city.
We went to a neat brewery for lunch, and then went to the Italian Villages for dinner. I never get tired of the Windy City!
My brothers first “Bean Experience!” We go to the city a lot, but he’d never seen the Bean! Crazy boy.
