This race was called “The Mustache Dash” and was fantastic! Runners, walkers, strollers, and dogs were welcome. All participants were given a fun colored mustache to wear. There were even a couple dogs wearing mustaches- too cute!
This race was put on by the Ottumwa High School “Interact Club”. All of the proceeds went to purchase school supplies for children in Sierra Leon.
It was a beautiful morning and great for running. The race was very organized and had a great turn out. There were about 100 participants, which was fantastic! This was the first 5k for the Interact Club, and hopefully one of many to come.
I had a great time running the event, and even came in first place for females and second place overall. I ran the event in 21:47 (average pace 7:15).
