I had an absolutely fabulous weekend in Chicago with my girlfriends. It really could not have been better.
My friends and I went to Aurora on Saturday to see our good friend perform in the play RENT. He did an outstanding job!
Before the play we hit up the outlet mall and scored some fantastic deals 🙂 For dinner we ate at California Pizza Kitchen. Delicious.
Sunday morning we drove into the city and met up with Kelly. We walked around, shopped, and dined all day. It was perfect!

We ended the evening on the 96th floor of the Hancock Tower. This is one of my favorite places in the city. It is so beautiful!
We all slept in on Monday morning (for us sleeping in is like 7 am) and then got up to exercise. I love running in the city. Normally I am running a race with a specific course, so whenever I get the chance to just run wherever I have to take it!
I ran along Michigan Ave towards the Gold Coast (my favorite area), along the lake, and back to our hotel. It was a beautiful morning. I was so distracted and could have kept running, but I was getting hungry and breakfast was on my mind.
I always get sad when I leave the city. However, I get to come back soon to run the half-marathon in July, to visit Kelly, and run the marathon in October so I have plenty of things to look forward too!
