I knew I wanted to run the Des Moines Marathon this year, and I finally registered!
Who else watched the Boston Marathon? I had to record it, and I am currently watching it right now. I knew a couple people running the marathon today so I was thinking about them all morning.
Morgan does not understand why I love watching marathons. I do suppose it sounds boring to most people; but I love it!
How amazing is this woman? Wow. I hope when I am her age I am still running races!

A couple posts ago I talked about how I choose races, and one of them is the route. I was looking at the route for the Des Moines Marathon this fall and it is the same, which is nice! I can visualize the miles, which help me because I have an idea of what to look for.
When thinking about this marathon and how I want to train, and based on past marathons I know I NEED to incorporate MORE core work, as well as strength training.
I have always done core and strength training, but not nearly enough.
It is SO, SO, SO important to have a strong core and strong legs/IT bands.
I will document my weekly marathon training once it begins. I have started half marathon training, so I can share my weekly mileage/strength training if you want some ideas.
My cousins and aunt Tara came this past weekend to hang out and spend a couple days with me. Family rocks!
Happy Monday night!
