I had a very fun and busy weekend and can now sit, relax, and talk about it!

On Friday I went out with some girlfriends to my friends open house at her hair salon, and then out for drinks and dinner.

I got this book, which is right up my alley. I plan on throwing a lot of tea parties at my new house.

Saturday morning I lounged around (I know, real shocker) and did some lesson planning.

I used this as my day off because I really wanted to be lazy all day.

Saturday night my girlfriends and I went to “Hairball”- a band that plays all 80’s music. It was awesome.

On Sunday morning I made some “Food for Life” 7 Sprouted Grains bread with almond butter for breakfast and watched a few episodes of House Hunters…

I DID eventually bundle up to go out for a run. I wanted to run 6 miles, but it started snowing pretty hard around mile 2, so I turned around at 2.5 miles and got in a total of 5 miles at an average pace of 9:02.

It is quite common to run a little slower in the winter, mainly because you are dodging ice, running over snow, and freezing.

I wore this North Face vest over my Under Armor and stayed nice and toasty.

After my run I had a strawberry-spinach-banana-almond milk-chia seed smoothie.

I made a mix of veggie (broccoli, cauliflower, artichoke) and tofu stir-fry for lunch with lime juice- it was amazing. The beggar wanted some of course.

Just because…

I finished my Sunday night by eating a whole cauliflower crust pizza and watching the Golden Globes. Morgan was at the Packers/Cowboys game so Charlie and I snuggled.

As for today… I am not running today because my left hip hurts (feels like I pinched a nerve), so that’s frustrating. I’m sure it’ll be back to normal by tomorrow.

I plan on doing upper body strength training and core work later tonight when Morgan gets home.

Some of my girl students told me I looked really “hip” today. Coming from 10-11 year olds, I take that as a compliment.

Have a great Monday night! I’ll probably make what I had for lunch yesterday because it was too amazing.

  1. That sounds like a great few days! I would have loved to watch the Golden Globes but it was starting at about 2 am my time and it was a school night so not a good option. I especially loved your outfit picture…your students were right!
