It has officially been a week since the Chicago Marathon, which means one week of no exercise. I have to admit, I have enjoyed the extra free time I’ve had this past week!
I have decided that I will run the Des Moines Marathon next fall. I LOVED Chicago, but it’s a bit pricey, so I will probably alternate running it every other year. I also like to support my own state, so it’ll be my third DSM Marathon 😉
I am going to start working out tomorrow, but not running. I plan on using the Stair Master or elliptical for 30 minutes, followed by upper body strength training.
I will probably start working on my legs again (squares, lunges, etc.) next week. I don’t think I will run until next Sunday either. As much as it is killing me to not run, I really want to take two weeks off and make sure my legs get plenty of rest and time to heal.
This past weekend I went to Burlington to visit my Grandma and some of my siblings. One of my favorite thing to do is hang out with my family.
My sister got me this chocolate. I love chocolate and chai tea, so this is a perfect combo!
Really, how sweet are my pajamas?
Morgan wants to burn them.
My Grandma got them for me like 8 years ago when I was a freshman at Iowa. I can’t get rid of them.
Sunday morning my siblings and I went to Harvestville Farms in Donnelson, Iowa (SE Iowa). We went there last year and had a blast, so we thought we would go again.
They have a 10 acre corn maze, a huge pumpkin patch, lots of crafts, and other neat things to do.
The corn maze took us 45 minutes to get through. I highly recommend this place if you live in SE Iowa!
I am not a good navigator, so I just followed and took pictures. I let them do all the work.
I love pumpkins!
It took my three brothers to wheel the pumpkins back to the car. They weighed in at 180 pounds!
I have been asked about how to transition from running a 5k to a 10k, so I will create a post about that this week. Most likely tomorrow, because honestly speaking that is the only night this week that I don’t have a fabulous tv show to watch 🙂
I did just start watching Scandal on Netflix, but luckily there aren’t many seasons yet so I shouldn’t be on my couch for too long 😉 Anyone watch it?
Have a great rest of your Sunday!
