Snacking

I eat a ridiculous amount of food. It’s safe to say that I eat every two to three hours. I blame that on marathon training. Or should I blame myself since I am the one consciously choosing to train?

Anyways, with all of the eating and snacking I do I have to make sure 99% of it is healthy. I actually love and prefer healthy foods, so to me it is easy to eat healthy. I do crave sweets on a daily basis, but I’ve figured out a way to make them semi-healthy.

One of my favorite snacks is a handful of nuts (pecan, walnuts and almonds) and some fruit drizzled with honey. It is super easy to prepare and I love the taste.

Sometimes if I choose bananas as my fruit I will have a little PB2 to go with it. It’s usually a toss up between bananas or strawberries.

Another snack I love is dried peas with wasabi coating. The more wasabi the better.

I could also drink 5 smoothies or juices a day if it didn’t cost so much to make each one.

Last night I worked at the coffee shop at Market on Main, and there is a Filipino family there that have a stand and let’s just say the food is amazing. I love all different types of food and these ladies know how to cook.

They are always bringing me food while I’m working because they don’t think I eat enough. If they only knew…

I have no idea what this is really called, but it consists of rice noodles, veggies, lemon juice, and a little soy sauce.

I was still throwing myself a pity party because my right leg hurts so I got a chocolate chip cookie from “Sugar”. I told the owner that I’m convinced she puts cocaine in them because I cannot get enough. Without a doubt, they are the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever had. And I’ve had a lot.

My leg is feeling much better, but I’m going to play it safe and not run today. It is mentally¬†painful to not run but it would be even worse if I ran and hurt myself further. I’m going to get out my road bike and bike for 10-15 miles. The distance actually depends on how much by backside hurts from riding for the first time this spring… again, is that too much information?! I’ll follow it up with some ab work and stretching.

I have a family cookout tonight that I’m looking forward to. Do you have any plans for Memorial Day weekend?

Have a great Saturday!
